夏の高校野球大会に出場し、2回戦に勝ち進んだ福島県代表の聖光学院は、私が幼稚園から高校卒業までの期間住んでいた福島県伊達郡伊達町にある。
当時聖光学院の隣だったS戸君の家には何度も遊びにいったが、遊びのついでに聖光学院の構内にも入っていた。聖光学院のグラウンド、ライト方向に家が建っていたので、よくボールが飛んできて、瓦が割れるという話も聞いていた。
聖光学院の文化祭に遊びにいったこともある。お化け屋敷に入ったり、工業科で製作して販売していた文鎮を買った。当時はそこそこ野球が強かったが、一時名前を聞かなくなった。最近また強くなったようだ。
さて、そのS戸君が、実家に帰省した際に隣から移転した聖光学院のグラウンドに行ってきたらしい。
なかなか良い学校になっているようだ。
